While the Church did not mention the Missouri extermination order that legalized killing Mormons in Missouri (from 1838 to 1980) before the Civil War and the 14th Amendment superseded states rights to discriminate, the Governor of Missouri declared this "a time of healing"  There are 67,000 members in Missouri, the most in any mid-western state.
