In the first two weeks of March, six (6) new stakes have
been created, all outside of the US.
The Church created two new stakes in Benin City, Nigeria.
The Benin City Nigeria Ugbowo and Benin City Nigeria Siluoko Stakes on March
11, 2012
A new stake was created in northeastern Brazil in Pernambuco
State called the Caruaru Brazil Stake on March 11, 2012
A new stake was created in Hidalgo State, Mexico called the
Tezontepec México Stake on March 11, 2012
Also created was Montevideo Uruguay De La Costa - March 11,
2012
and Querétaro Mexico El Sol - March 11th,
Nigeria now has 20 stakes, 8 more than South Africa, I can't
remember the last time there were two new stakes created in the same city.
Uruguay now has 17 stakes, putting it in a tie with Tonga
and South Korea
Brazil now has 243
Mexico now has 225 (3 this year)
There are now 2,954 stakes worldwide, with 1,491 in the US
(50.5%)
However 8 of the 9 new stakes were outside of the US and the
only one in the US this year was in Utah.
Will the 3,000 stake be created in 2012? We’ll see with 46 to go and 48 created in
2011, it will be close. Another possible
milestone, only 28 stakes separate US counts from non US. Will foreign stakes out-number US in 2012 ?
